Nong Shim Kimchi Flavoured Instant Ramyun

I've slowly come over to liking the Korean instant noodles - they tend to be a bit thicker and more chewy. This one is by the commonplace Nong Shim - kimchi flavour. As you can see, I've added some stir-fried vegetables and beancurd skin (great way to use up leftovers). Lots more pepper flakes too.

I'm not a big fan of kimchi, I just tried this out of curiosity. I think I still prefer the hot mushroom flavour. There seem to be more and more flavours now too (claypot kimchi and whatnot). Have not picked those up because I'm just afraid they'll all kinda taste alike.

  1. Yes I find this flavour you tried too spicy for my liking too. I have tried other flavours too and find the Udon one quite tasty. It is the one with the white packaging. Its flake sachet is packed separately with generous amounts of nori. That claypot flavour is only so so, not worth the money (at over S$4). Or you can try the seafood flavour (blue packaging) by Samyang Foods.

  2. Thanks! I'll try the Udon flavour one soon - I like the sound of plentiful nori! Seafood might be a nice change too, from all the spicy stuff.

  3. I like their cup noodles but only the spicy flavour, the rest not so good. Good for midnight hunger pangs.

  4. Southernoise, for cup noodles, my favourite is still the Nissin Curry Seafood (oh man, they used to sell the Japanese version which totally kicked ass, but I don't see it anywhere anymore).
