Gogo Beanz @ Old Airport Road

Gogo Beanz, originally uploaded by Camemberu.

Spotted this stall selling soybean related drinks and desserts, manned by a polite, young, English-speaking lad. Desserts and drinks here are quite affordable, most just over a dollar. You can choose toppings like candy jelly, tapioca pearls, longan, red bean, aloe vera, grass jelly, gingko nuts, white fungus, attap seeds and even tang yuan (glutinous rice balls). They also have a few other interesting things - an Oreo ice-blended soy drink among others.

I went for a cold beancurd with sea coconut (S$1.60), minus sugar. The syrup from the sea coconut itself was sweet enough to make the dessert refreshingly nice.

And I was glad the beancurd was soft and smooth but not to the extent of the artificial tasting Rochor Beancurd (hey, not even Anthony Bourdain liked that, you know). The soy milk looks quite thick. I'd come back to try that another day.
