My List of Dream Krabi Luxury Hotels

It's been a rough period lately, and my thoughts have been drifting to a holiday where I can seriously pamper myself. No roughing it, no compromising, just all-out relaxation and over-the-top indulgence! Well, I can dream, can't I?

I am thinking of a beach destination nearby that I haven't been to. So I looked up some luxury hotels in Krabi. All the photos here are from Traveloka, and used with permission. Here are a few dream destinations I wouldn't mind being whisked away to.

Rayavadee

214 Moo 2, Tumbon Ao-Nang, Amphur Muang, Mueang Krabi District, Thailand, 81000

Rayavadee at Railay is a highly secluded five-star resort consisting of 100 pavilions amidst lush and landscaped grounds. It's located right on an amazing private beach and is next to Krabi Marine National Park on the Andaman Coast. There's a stunning Grotto Restaurant set within an open cave inside the dramatic limestone cliffs.

Apparently you'll run into monkeys every day because of the tropical jungle environment.

One of the guests said there's a wide selection of movies, books to read, gym, squash and tennis courts, fitness classes, some guided walks to local nature attractions and a range of water sports activities including kayaks, wind-surfing, snorkelling and even a small sail boat, all complimentary. A sail boat! Fancy that!

Of course service is stellar but many people mention how the staff go out of their way to make guests feel special.

Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve

111 Moo 3, Tumbol Nongthalay, Amphur Muang, Mueang Krabi District, Thailand, 81180

The ultra-luxurious Phulay Bay has a great view of Phang Nga Bay. Once past the enormous teak doors into the aubergine-walled courtyard, you know you're in for a treat. Think gorgeous plunge pools and colossal beds, ridiculously large bathing areas and erotic Lanna Northern Thai art.

Of the 54 pavilions and villas The Royal Andaman Sea Villa is the ultimate, featuring a sensational outdoor bath, set within its own pond. The rooms are so exquisitely furnished that you won't want to step out. The 24-hour personalised butler service will also see to everything you need.

If you do manage to get out of the glamorously oversized 4m bed, check out the spa run by ESPA; it offers stellar pampering therapies, alongside yoga and fitness classes in the wellness centre.

There's also a stunning two-level infinity pool, one splashing into the other.

The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort

123 Moo 3, Tumbol Nongtalay, Amphur Mueang, Mueang Krabi District, Thailand, 81180

I like seclusion, far from the madding crowd. So Tubkaak Resort is perfect in that sense. It's a tranquil seaside resort that's a 15-minute ride away from Krabi. You won't find annoying big tourist groups here. Cocoon yourself in a spacious villa with private pool, stunning outdoor baths, and excellent hospitality.

It looks like they've integrated nature well into the resort as a natural creek flows right through it. There are bean bags for you on the beach, and you'll even find beach towels in a beach bag ready for you in your room. The complimentary mini-bar and daily fruit pretty much ensures you don't have to hunt for a 7-Eleven for snacks. The Italian and Thai restaurants also take care of meals.

Well, all three resorts above can be romantic but they are also family-friendly. What I also like about them is that the food at the resort restaurants have been lauded as excellent. This is a critical point for me, because the cuisine can make or break one's experience. Service at all three hotels are also exceptionally good. With a luxury holiday, you certainly want to make sure every aspect meets the standard.
