Happy 18th Blog Anniversary!

 


I can't believe Camemberu.com is 18 years old. Yeah, we started this journey in 2007, the same year my younger daughter was born. Well, I had planned this wonderful blog design relaunch, but as life would have it, other battles took time from me and I wasn't able to conquer the CSS conflicts in time. But since I'm celebrating the blog anniversary (which is also my birthday) all month, I promise to get it done. 

I do want to revive the blog a little. This time make it a repository of my radio CNA93.8 food recommendations (over 50 places and counting). Yes, I do Foodie Friday at times. Usually comes on at 6:45pm on Fridays. 

A little update on what's happened in life. From food-writing and photography, I went into banking compliance for about three years, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The blog had to take a back seat, as some viewed it as a conflict of interest, even though I didn't really monetise it. I also dabbled in day-trading the US stock market which was again another exhilarating adventure but staying up late til 5am took heavy tolls. 

Then the opportunity of a lifetime came. I got to partner an old American friend who was in risk mapping. We did an amazing project in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. We trained Proctor & Gamble. We worked on exciting projects. And now we have two to three business development fun projects, involving stem cells and separately, a motion-activated combat tactical laser. Coming soon. 

In the meantime, I got hooked on making coffee as a barista the past couple of years. I am with The Coffee Cart, which provides coffee at conferences, events and offices, and even several weddings and a funeral. I do part time gigs here and there. Coffee is such a rabbit hole. 

Life is learning, and there is so much more to look forward to.
