Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Singapore: Best Airport Hotel I've Ever Seen!

King Bed Guest Room
I swear this looks more like a tropical resort than an airport hotel. And that's the feel I got when I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport. Lovely contemporary neutrals and comfy furnishings in spacious rooms (minimum 36 square m each) nestled amidst courtyard gardens. The king size bed is bliss for weary travellers.

Little wonder that it's voted as one of the "World's Top 10 Airport Hotels" at the 2011 World Airport Awards.

Love the bathroom glass flower motifs
I especially love the big flower motifs adorning the glass bathroom walls. Cute peekaboo effect. That bathroom is huge too.

The signature facade
The floral and leafy motif is repeated throughout the hotel. You'll see it first in the metal lattice facade cloaking the hotel building. The giant leaf cut-out gives you a window to the airport-related buildings nearby.

Desk area
The rest of the room is simple and sleek with rounded wooden edges dominating the design.

Herman Miller chair!
And that's a real Herman Miller chair you get at your work desk. Yes, I turned it upside down to check! It was so good I wanted one for home too!

Bathroom is modern and spacious
There's a separate freestanding oversized bath in addition to the roomy rainshower stall.

Open concept closet
The closet is interestingly open concept - you just slide the mirrored door in front of it to hide it.

Welcome fruit platter
What a cheery bowl of fruit to welcome you.

You've got planes right outside your room, but you don't hear them from inside
The amazing thing is: you have the airport literally right outside your room, with awesome views of planes landing and taking off, but you don't hear them at all in the room. It's so well soundproofed! And that's essential for a good night's sleep.

Reception
The reception is beautiful, with batik-like prints in the background. Check-in and check-out is really swift and hassle-free.

The hotel has beautiful curves flowing throughout. Don't they look beautiful?

Lobby Lounge
The lobby lounge facing the gardens is a lovely place to chill. It's bathed in natural light from the double-storey floor-to-ceiling glass panels.

Nadine and Jolie love the cushions
The lobby area colours are apparently inspired by papaya and watermelon. I see it now. Oh the kids love the cushions. They *always* go for them when they are here, even if we are just passing by. Too huggable, perhaps?

Lobby area
More of the watermelon theme. I love the quirky touch. And the comfy swivel chairs.

Handy flight info display
There's a handy display showing flights departing and arriving, so you can keep an eye out on your flight.

The hotel is also connected to the airport directly by an air-conditioned seamless link bridge to Terminal 3. You just walk right in and it doesn't even take five minutes. Terminals 1 and 2 can be reached by Skytrain.

I can't emphasize enough how convenient this is for travellers, especially if you have to fly very early in the morning or at some ungodly hour.

Lots of curves
More of those beautiful curves, giving you an amazing sense of space. This is near the hotel's conference rooms. See the skylight? That's actually the swimming pool water feature.

Breakfast at Azur
There are plenty of dining options at the hotel and the airport too, so food is never a worry. Here's the buffet breakfast at Azur, the all-day dining restaurant on Level 2.

You can also enjoy Cantonese fine-dining at Imperial Treasure on Level 1. There's Bar '75 with three zones (a space to unwind with cocktails, a pool table area, and sports bar with big screen TV) and REFLECTIFF, an al fresco gastrobar just outside the Lobby Lounge.

Nice gym
The gym is very well-equipped. You don't have to miss out on workouts!

But the best feature of all, is probably the landscaped pool.

Swimming underneath the lush canopy of tropical trees? Awesome.

These bridges are actually above the skylight water feature
See these wooden bridges across to the pool? They are above the water feature that's the skylight to the floor below.

So nice to go for a piggy back ride
It's so nice to go for a piggy back ride through the bejeweled waters. The azure glazed tiles are gorgeous.

Lots of areas in the pool to sit and chill
There are so many nooks and corners, with sitting areas and lights. The water is slightly cold for us, but you just can't resist a dip.

Pretty and tranquil
So many pretty things to look at while you swim.

Lush

One of the best airport hotels in the world
It's so tranquil and restful here. You almost can't believe you're right next to one of the busiest airports in the world. The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is a luxurious haven for transit travellers, but also a wonderful escape for locals wanting a staycation. Away from the bustling city, yet completely accessible. The MRT can take you to Changi City Point for more shopping and eating!
