Travel Skincare Favourite: SK-II R.N.A. Radical New Age Power

You know how we tend to overpack skincare items when we travel? Yes, so many bottles of this and that that we feel we will need just in case the weather turns dry or cold, plus sample sachets because they're so portable?

Well, I have found two very useful travel companions that do well in all climates - dry or humid; hot or cold. The SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age duo of moisturiser and essence.

With these two, I only need a make-up remover, cleanser and maybe a mask to complete the ziplock bag skincare essentials.

TIP: Put these in your handcarry luggage; little bottles of liquid doesn't do so well in cargo with changes in air pressure and temperature. Plus you don't want to risk losing these!

The RNA Power products feature the revolutionary Pitera™X  R.N.A. (Radical New Age) Complex that targets the multi-controller of firmness. It firms up your skin lengthwise and crosswise by rejuvenating skin cells and promoting structural protein syntesis in every cell on all layers of the skin.

The RNA Power Radical New Age Essence is the critical first line against aging concerns. It is designed to specifically target visibility of pores and skin texture. You'll see a bouncy resilience the very next morning, they promise. In 10 days, it is known to give you pore-less, bouncy skin with a fresh morning glow.

It comes with a dropper to dispense the product. The light milky essence interestingly smells to me like a fresh bamboo forest. Your skin does absorb this quickly and it feels so soft and smooth afterwards.

Imagine regaining the firmness greater than that which you lose over 15 years. Can this be possible in one cream?

The RNA Power moisturiser has Radical New Age Complex technology which holistically treats all 10 signs of aging: loss of firmness, dryness, fine lines and wrinkles, sallowness, lack of resilience, visible pores, sagging skin, lack of radiance, roughness and loss of tightened facial contours.

The velvety cream is luxuriously pampering yet silky and light. It has a subtle olive fragrance that's very pleasing too. A little goes a long way.

I tried out the products over a two week period, and this is what happened.

This is the "Before" shot. Photos are as-is, no editing. Pardon the untameable frizz and terrible eyebags which I owe to my nocturnal writing - I don't know why but the wee hours of the morning are when I do my best work. But as I grow older, 2-3am nights now take a ridiculous toll on me. Can't do this anymore.

Anyway, I had a week long trip to Taiwan (that whirlwind media tour where we checked out five farmstays), and I brought the SK-II RNA products along. I'm so glad I did. They performed so well and I never felt any dryness the whole trip.

This is the "After" shot taken two weeks later. I actually thought I would look worse because despite my best laid plans, I had even more 3am nights, including one 5am one. But I realise my pores are now indeed less visible, my skin more plump and fresh. My lines and wrinkles seem reduced. Hey I almost look younger. There's no whitening function in the SK-II skincare but for some reason, my skin also looks lighter.

Well, it's only been two weeks, so I can't wait to see what happens after a month or longer. And I need more early nights!

The SK-II RNA Power duo are now part of my SK-II lineup at home. The new range is definitely not cheap, but better something that works than gambling your youth on something that might not. Now I must work for more money...

The RNA Power moisturiser retails at S$149 (50g, shown above), S$219 (80g) and S$234 (100g).
The RNA Power Essence retails at S$156 (30ml, shown above), S$224 (50ml), and S$308 (75ml).

Thanks to SK-II for providing the products.
