On our final day of the Taiwan farmstay trip, we got to stay a night in Taipei. Woohoo! Farmstays are sweet but you can't miss exploring Taipei and all it has to offer.
Anyway, I was really pleased with the hotel we stayed at. The Hotel Amba at Zhongshan is a modern boutique hotel with a hip, youthful vibe, right in the heart of the commercial and shopping district of Zhongshan.

Locationwise, it's super convenient - just five minutes from the metro Zhongshan station, and one stop away from the main Taipei metro/bus station. I was able to walk to the main Taipei station in about 15 mins. From here you can just about head out to anywhere in Taipei - Ximending, Taipei 101, museums and more.
It's also walking distance to Ningxia Night Market - the night market for foodies!
Amba There are 90 rooms - super new, clean, and stylishly contemporary.

Each room seems to have a large window, letting in lots of natural light.

Mine had a work desk at the head of the bed.

The rooms are all digitally decked out - you have your own in-room router with high speed WiFi, loads of charging ports and universal sockets (every hotel should have these, and we'll never have to worry about travel adaptors).

The rooms are not very big, but have all the necessary comforts. You even get trendy flip-flops to take home (sadly, I had no more space in my luggage).
Interesting that the sink counter is outside of the bathroom.

The bathroom has a gorgeously powerful rainshower. The toiletries are scented with ginger flower - the very scent we discovered and loved at the Matthew Saddle Wetlands.

There is one all-day dining restaurant within the hotel.

The food is very decent, with good variety for the breakfast buffet.

Even the exterior of the hotel reflects the hip persona the chain tries to embody. There doesn't seem to be a pool or gym, but otherwise, it's a great hotel to chill out at and explore Taipei.
Room rates are roughly from TWD 3,000 or US$90. There are offers online with best rate guarantee at their website. You can check out more photos online also.
