whYZee Bakery: One-Hour Cake Delivery in Singapore

Whyzee Bakery
I found yet another one-hour cake delivery service, this time with more than 50 kinds of cake, healthy bakes, vegan and eggless cakes. Meet whYZee (I'm guessing some owner's initials are YZ) which also owns the domain - Cakedelivery.com.sg (it redirects to whyzee.com.sg)

They focus on providing healthier option cakes, so they use less sugar and cream to ensure everyone of all ages get to enjoy them as well. You can also order the cakes bundled with flowers, flower domes, balloons and toys.

Delivery services countrywide come at a flat fee of $10 and you get free delivery for orders above $100. Express one-hour delivery comes at S$20. Self pick-up is free. whYZee has a bakery located at 11 Sin Ming road Thomson V, Two, #01-30, S577629.

Let's take a look at three of the cakes from whYZee.

Mango Mousse Cake (S$39.90 for 6-inch cake)
This little crowd pleaser is light and airy but carries a rich mango aroma. The mango mousse sandwiches mango sponge and cubed mango fruit, and is topped with a shiny layer of mango jelly. Really easy to eat.

Butterscotch Basque Cheesecake (S$69.90)
When I saw this, I knew I had to have it. There are so many kinds of Basque cheesecake out there, but butterscotch just kicks it up a notch. It looked beautiful when it arrived. Frozen, yes, but glistening like a candied temptress.

It comes pre-cut into 10 slices, but that's a very thick slice each. This extremely rich cheesecake is best enjoyed in small bites. Just shave off a sliver while it's still cold, and let it dissolve on your tongue into caramel bliss.

We are also on the lookout for good Black Forest Cake, so we picked this. My friend had tried the original Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte in Germany at Cafe Schaefer: The 'home' of Black Forest Gateau. The German version featured thick layers of chocolate sponge, whipped cream, and cherries. Traditionally, the cake is infused with Kirschwasser, or "Kirsch," a cherry liqueur similar to brandy.

This version by whYZee is more like chocolate sponge with thick chocolate cream, with just a few cherries embedded on the inside. So it's more rich and dense than most Black Forest Cakes, but if you care more about chocolate than authenticity, you may be pleased with this one.

The cakes store quite well in the fridge or freezer (for the cheesecake). We tested for about two weeks; they were still good, but I probably wouldn't keep for longer.

Meanwhile, check out the site and the bundle promos they have. If you ever are in urgent need of cake and presents, they can deliver within an hour.

Many thanks to whYZee for the cakes!
